watched CNN Haiti coverage: a story about a 11 year old girl, trapped two days by one leg. She was a fighter, though, drinking and eating and talking her way through this until some heavy equipment finally came to free her. She died 1 hour later for lack of medical attention: no doctors, no medicine, no facilities. I thought of every 11 year old I have ever taught at that moment
