7th grade student writing about similarity and congruecy

Similar Figures are figures with the same angles therefor the same shape, but a different size.  The Scale Factor is the number you multiply or divide by to make the figure either bigger or smaller.  Congruent Figures are figures that are the same size and shape. To scale up is to make the figure bigger and to scale down is to make the figure smaller. Scaling up is multiplying and scaling down is dividing.  Multiplying an dividing are the only two things you can do to make a similar figure. The youtube video on Scale Ella we watched in class really helped me. Also, the pictures of Homer and Bart Simpson you put on the smartboard as well. I think I really understand this well.
