A different parent email, but some strident message.

Dear Glenn,

I'm xxxxxxxxxxxx's' dad.

I am not sure if we have ever officially met, but I am sure that will happen soon.

I am writing in response to your remarks (below) in xxxxxxxxxr's Weekly Report from last Friday. I am not sure if you saw the entire report but it has us (my wife Margie and me) quite concerned.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx himself didn't see it coming at all and he was very upset when he found out that so many of his homework assignments were late or missing.

Like you and everybody at the vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv School, we want our son to be succesful, but he is already running into the same big problem as last year: managing his homework.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx has trouble staying organised, and therefore completing and handing in his homework on time is a big problem.

Another thing you should know is that he has trouble with auditory processing: you cannot count on him to remember and act upon verbal instructions, especially not when given to a whole group or class at a time.

We are well aware of these issues and we try to give xxxxxxxxxxx all the support we can. He has been working with a tutor for many years now and, frankly, he has come a long way.

Thank you for taking the time to talk to xxxxxxxxxxxx about using his time with tutor for Math. As you noted, he wants to improve - and a little bit of individual attention goes a long way.

We are hoping that you can support him, for instance by keeping him focused and specifically reminding him to complete and hand in his homework. It would also be helpful to inform my wife xxxxxxxxxx and myself about which homework is due when.

The website is not always conclusive. For instance, I just checked the Math Week Sheet for September 28 (which is also taped in xxxxxxxxxx's workbook) and it mentions 'How Much is a Skunk Worth?' (as POW I assume) but I cannot find any other reference to this problem in his binder or the SFS homework site.

Please also let me know if you have any further questions or suggestions to support xxxxxxxxx. I hope that with your help and frequent personal contact we can keep him on track and reach his full potential at the vvvvvvvvvvvvvv School.

Thanks,

:-) This time around I am being supported by the School, which feels great compared to last year.
